Counseling Rates

I charge $100 for an initial intake performed via online video conference.  From there, fees vary by session type.  Due to Corvid 19, sessions will be telehealth-only until further notice.

Individual Counseling - $175

Couples, Marital, Premarital, or Family Counseling - $250

Standard sessions are 55 minutes in length, although abbreviated sessions and crisis (within 24 hour) sessions are available for existing clients under limited circumstances for a modified fee.

Prorated services include: telephone calls, consults, requested reports and consultations with other professionals, and paperwork preparation.  Fees for these services will be covered during intake.

Payment

I can accept cash with exact change, check, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, and credit cards in session using Stripe. Payment is due at time of service.

Insurance

I am a fee for service therapist and practice as an out-of-network provider. What this means is you are responsible for payment each session and I can provide insured clients with a receipt which they can submit with a claims form to their insurance company for reimbursement. Check with your insurance company to determine what their rate of coverage is for out-of-network mental health services. This will help you understand what the full cost to you will be.

You can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask if you are covered by an “out-of-network Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.” I do not interact with insurance companies on the client's behalf except under extreme circumstances.

Your therapy sessions will also apply towards your health insurance deductibles. If you have a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account, you may use those funds for your therapy.

Why do you not take insurance?

Better
Care

Bypassing insurance means we don’t spend all day haggling with third-party payers. Instead, our focus stays on providing you with the best therapy experience possible.

More
Control

Insurance companies dictate the length of your treatment, the frequency and length of your sessions, and other important clinical decisions. At Bloom, you’re in control of your treatment.

Optional Diagnosis

Almost all insurance companies require you to receive a mental health diagnosis after your very first session. With Bloom diagnosis is optional, based on accuracy rather than necessity, and investigated on the client’s timeline, not the insurance company’s.

Confidentiality

When you use insurance for therapy, your diagnostic and treatment records become part of your medical record. Working out of network means treatment notes are not only confidential, but entirely optional. With self-pay, no one will ever know you were in therapy unless you tell them.

You can receive text and/or email appointment notifications if you elect for them during your initial intake.  These settings can be changed at any time.  Please note that appointments scheduled within 36 hours may not trigger a notification.
